Fox immediately came in on Wednesday and delivered a pinch hit RBI single. "He gives us a good bat coming off the bench, a power bat," Cubs manager Lou Piniella said. "We haven't had that. This gives us more firepower."

The Dodgers send Randy Wolf to the mound on Thursday. He is 2-1 with a 3.02 ERA this season. He is tied for the Major League lead with seven no-decisions this season.
